Floe — a free daily ice-sliding puzzle game

Floe is a free browser puzzle game about a penguin on very slippery ice. Once it starts sliding it can't stop until a rock or the edge of the floe gets in the way — so every move is a commitment. Grab every fish in as few slides as you can. There are 3 new puzzles every day, the same for every player in the world, with par scores, streaks, a spoiler-free share string, an archive of past days and an unlimited practice mode. No download, no signup: it loads in about a second.

How to play

• Pick a direction — your penguin slides in a straight line until it hits a rock or the edge.
• You collect a fish by sliding over it or stopping on it.
• Collect all the fish to solve the puzzle. Fewer slides = better score.
• Each puzzle has a par: the true minimum number of slides, computed by a solver. Matching par means your solution was perfect.
• Stuck? Undo takes back one slide, reset restarts the puzzle — no penalty beyond the slide count.

• Daily — 3 puzzles a day, identical for everyone. Solve all three to keep your streak and share your result.
• Archive — replay any past day's 3 puzzles exactly as they were, and chase par on each.
• Practice — unlimited random puzzles, no effect on your streak.

Tips

• Think about where you'll stop, not what you'll pass through — the stopping square determines your next options.
• Rocks are tools: a rock in just the right place is usually the key to reaching an awkward fish.
• Order matters. If a fish looks unreachable, try collecting the others first — your position changes everything.
• Under par is impossible; par is proven minimal. If you matched par, you solved it as well as it can be solved.

Do I need to sign up or download anything? No. Floe runs entirely in your browser and is free, with no account and currently no ads.

When do the daily puzzles reset? At midnight in your local timezone. Everyone gets the same 3 puzzles on the same calendar day.

What happens to my streak if I miss a day? It resets — but you can still replay missed days in the archive (archive runs don't restore streaks).

Does it work on phones and school Chromebooks? Yes — anything with a modern browser works, keyboard or touch.
